Why should you choose organic wool over non-organic wool?
Organic Wool is made using processes that keep you, the animals, and the environment in mind.
Consider these points when buying organic wool.
Taken from Organic Trade Association http://www.ota.com/organic/woolfactsheet.html
When taking care of animals farmers use holisitc and natural methods for parasites, sickness, and how they feed them.
Processes for spinning allow only animal or vegetable derived oils, synthetic oil is not allowed. Non-Organic wool cannot be used in the machines that are used to process the organic wool.
Animals are not overpopulated on the land. This allows for true free range of the animals in their natural environment.
Organic wool cannot be processed with all the chemical baths of conventional wool, due to the standards of North American Organic Fiber Standards.
All of these points and many more keep unneeded chemicals out of our environment. This helps make our environment a safer place for all.
